Tattoo Aftercare

Initial Care

Leave the Bandage On: Keep the second skin bandage on for the first 24 hours as recommended. This helps protect the tattoo from bacteria and keeps it clean.

Gently Clean: After removing the bandage, wash your hands thoroughly. Use mild, unscented soap and lukewarm water to gently cleanse the tattooed area. Pat it dry with a clean paper towel—do not rub.

Ongoing Care

Moisturize: Apply a thin layer of an aftercare ointment(such as H2Ocean. Do this after every time you wash the tattoo and an additional 2-3 times a day for the first week whenever it feels dry to the touch. Avoid over-moisturizing.

Keep It Clean: Continue to wash your tattoo with mild soap and lukewarm water once or twice daily. Always pat dry gently.

Avoid Picking: As your tattoo heals, it may itch and peel. Do not scratch or pick at scabs or peeling skin, as this can damage the tattoo and increase the risk of infection.

General Guidelines

Avoid Soaking: For the first two weeks, avoid soaking your tattoo in water—no baths, swimming pools, or hot tubs.

Sun Protection: Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight for at least 2-3 weeks. After it’s healed, apply sunscreen to protect the colors and prevent fading.

Wear Loose Clothing: Avoid tight clothing over the tattooed area to minimize irritation and allow proper airflow.

Watch for Signs of Infection: If you notice excessive redness, swelling, pus, or prolonged pain, contact your tattoo artist or a healthcare professional immediately.

Long-Term Care

Hydrate Your Skin: Once healed, continue to moisturize your tattoo regularly to keep the skin healthy and the colors vibrant.
